If you have the following attributes, you may be eligible for a skilled permanent visa to live and work in Australia:
* aged under 45
* have recent full time skilled work experience (at least 12 months in the last 18 months)
* have vocational English
* have an occupation on the Skilled Occupations List
You will generally n eed to show evidence of appropriate qualifications, and you will have a better chance of being eligible for skilled migration if you have at least 3 years full time work experience out of the last 4 years.
The general process for skilled migration involves two stages:
* Skills Assessment from appropriate authority
* Visa application
For the state/territory government-sponsored visas, you will also need government sponsorship/approval. If you have an Australian relative who is willing to sponsor you, this may improve your chances in the skilled migration category.
If you would like a Free Assessment to determine whether you are eligible to apply for a skilled visa, please complete the online form and we will get back to you within 48 hours (in most cases) regarding your eligibility for an Australian skilled visa.
Recent changes to the skilled migration program in February 2010 mean there is no longer a Migration Occupations in Demand List and the Critical Skills List will be phased out in mid-2010, with a new Skilled Occupation List due to be introduced. Processing times for these visas vary according to occupation and other factors such as whether you are state-sponsored or your occupation is on an approved state migration plan.
