Why is it better to use a Migration Agent who operates from within Australia?
Australian Migration Agents are required by law to be registered by the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA), and this registration process involves rigorous study and an examination to ensure an excellent knowledge of current Australian migration law. There are strict regulations in place to ensure that an agent is practicing in the best interests of his/her client and an agent cannot be re-registered each year unless they maintain excellent standards and meet criteria such as keeping an up to date professional library and ensuring their knowledge of migration legislation is current. Migration Agents who practice from overseas are not required by law to be registered with the MARA, and as such do not have the level of accountability that an Australia- based migration agent has.
An Australia- based agent is also well-positioned to advise you on various aspects of the visa application process, including settlement issues such as real estate advice, business advice etc. We are also in the best position to liaise with Australian migration processing centres regarding your application if necessary, and can assist you with various details once you arrive in the country.
Why do I need to use a Migration Agent to help me with my application, when I could just do it myself?
Yes, it is true that many people do put together their own visa applications successfully. But it is also true that so many visa applications are refused on a technicality that the client is unaware of- usually a minor issue that an experienced Migration Agent would have noticed before lodging the application with DIAC. Using a Registered Migration Agent to assist you in the process of applying for an Australian visa is a way to ensure that you have not missed anything in the process. We will thoroughly research every detail of your application to make sure that it complies with all relevant legislative requirements, to give you the very best chance of receiving a positive visa outcome.
If I sign up as your client, will I be receiving bills later on that were not expected, for work I did not ask to be done?
Many agents charge for work on an ongoing basis, and send quotes long after the application is commenced for work that the client did not approve. When you entrust the visa process to us, you can be sure that you will receive an honest estimate of the costs up front (including professional fees, medicals, police clearance fees and applicable government charges), with NO HIDDEN FEES. This means that you will know from the start what to expect, and will be able to determine your migration budget with ease. For most of our services, we are happy to accept 50% of the payment up front, with the remainder being payable just prior to lodgement of the visa application.
